Perfect for new dancers! This year long series teaches the fundamentals of ballroom dance. To participate in this class, no prior experience or partner is necessary. You will learn the waltz, quickstep, foxtrot, tango, cha cha, samba, rumba, and jive throughout the year. This is great for students looking to learn a few fundamentals of ballroom dance.
Students looking to compete in this class generally compete at the newcomer/bronze level.
This class is good for students with 1-2 years of experience. Students in this class have some familiarity with basic figures in all the dances. This class is focused more on technique and building on the figures and patterns learned in the first year.
Students looking to compete in this class generally compete at the bronze/silver level
This class is more competition focused, for students with 2+ years of experience competing at a silver level or above. This class focuses more heavily on technique, and expects knowledge of bronze figures.
We host eight workshops a term, four at the beginner (bronze) level, and four at the advanced (gold/open) level. During these workshops, we invite acclaimed professionals to teach group classes at Caltech. Workshops will be announced on our facebook page and by email.
Our first workshop is with Kristina Androsenko on Sunday, January 12th at 1:00PM.
